Mr. Deepak Pahwa is the Group Chairman, Pahwa Enterprises and Managing Director of Bry-Air (Asia) Pvt. Ltd..
Pahwa Enterprises is a rapidly growing industrial group in India and employs about 400 persons. The core manufacturing strengths of the member companies of the group is in air engineering and environmental control technologies.
Even though this group is an entrepreneurial “small-medium business” (SMB), the dynamic growth under the leadership of Mr. Deepak Pahwa, and its success in introducing high technology products in India and its exports to South East Asia and North America are often quoted as model examples.
The group has a wholly owned subsidiary plant in Malaysia, Bry-Air (Malaysia), with offices in Dubai, China, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Brazil, S. Africa and USA. The company has an extensive export network in South East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East and African countries. The company has been the recipient of several export awards.
Mr. Pahwa was awarded, in 1989, the “Entrepreneur of the year award” in the small medium enterprise entrepreneur category 1987, a national award presented by the then President of India.
He has presented several technical papers on various aspects of Air Engineering at various international forums and has been a member of several trade delegations to USA, Canada, Korea & Japan and has addressed gathering on the investment climate and 'doing business with India'.
Mr. Pahwa is a alumni of an Electrical Engineer from BHU. He has over 25 years of experience in engineering & marketing of HVAC&R, Airgineering & Environmental Control Technologies.
He laid down the foundation of the first company in the group in 1979. Today, the group has six (6); manufacturing – 3, marketing & services 3 and worldwide network.
The Northern India Refrigeration and Airconditioning Trades Association awarded Mr. Pahwa with the NIRATA Export Award for the year 2001 for his “unstinted commitment, significant contribution for export of Air conditioning and Refrigeration products from India.”
Bry-Air has setup an institute for advanced learning HVAC&R, BALI: Bry-Air Learning Institute.
Bry-Air has also instituted the “Bry-Air Awards for Excellence in HVAC&R” for innovative and new systems design and product design.
Mr. Pahwa, is also, a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Airconditioning Engineers) USA and serves on several technical committees, TC 3.5, TC 5.5 and TC 5.7. Mr. Pahwa has been recently elevated to grade “Fellow ASHRAE”. Since its inception, ASHRAE has honored about 525 of its 55,000 (current) members, worldwide, as “Fellow” (currently, about 250 of the 525 are living). In India, six (6) HVAC&R stalwarts have been honored as “Fellow”, Mr. Pahwa being one of them. He also, chairs the ASHRAE India Chapter’s Research Promotion Committee, and is the co-chairman of the TC 4.3: Ventilation Requirements & Infiltration in India. He is a life member ISHRAE.
Mr. Pahwa is also a Managing Committee Member, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Past National President, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce
